The SZBO is an organization intended to bring together all Soto Zen groups
worldwide in one place. We are not associated with SotoShu in Japan, nor
do we require membership in, or recognition by, SotoShu in order to be a
member of SZBO. Full membership is open to all fully transmitted Soto Zen
priests and teachers (including lay teachers), and Associate membership is
available to all others on the Soto Zen path, wherever you may be on the path.
SZBO will function as a central registry for all members of the wider Soto Zen
tradition worldwide as well as a way for Soto Zen practicioners to meet each
other and share the dharma.
